Women’s Fund Fiji Strengthens Gender Equality Efforts with 15 New Partners

Suva, Fiji – Women’s Fund Fiji (WFF) today announced 15 new grants, totaling FJD970,445.25, empowering women’s groups nationwide.

These partners will lead initiatives to eliminate violence against women, strengthen women’s leadership and decision-making, promote economic empowerment, drive climate justice and humanitarian action, and build strong coalitions for collective advocacy and change.

WFF Executive Director, Ms. Victoria Yee, said the 2025 cohort reflects the diversity, innovation, and resilience of Fiji’s women’s rights movement.

“From tackling gender-based violence in rural and faith-based communities, to amplifying women’s voices in climate governance, to advancing disability-inclusive leadership, these partners represent the interconnected efforts needed to achieve lasting change,” Ms. Yee said.

Australian High Commissioner, HE Peter Roberts, expressed Australia’s continued commitment to advancing gender equality in Fiji during his address to the new grant recipients. “We are working together to support Fiji’s aspirations for equality through the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership, providing FJD450,000 towards the fifteen grants because we see the impact of support to grassroots women’s groups,” Mr Roberts said.

New Zealand High Commission First Secretary, Jane Anderson, said Fiji benefits from a strong diverse community of women’s organisations who champion innovative and impactful programs to improve opportunities for Fijian women and girls.

“New Zealand proudly supports Women’s Fund Fiji’s focus on promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls because we believe that gender equality provides the foundation for a fairer, healthier, more representative and safer society, increases productivity and improves development outcomes for everyone,” Ms Anderson said.

Three organisations are joining WFF for the first time, bringing fresh perspectives and innovation to the national network.
