About the project
The project aims to increase viable women’s economic opportunities and improve women’s participation in disaster risk reduction leadership and decision making. ADRA will work with four villages (Sawana, Narocivo, Lomaloma, and Urone) on the island of Vanua Balavu.
The Grant will enable Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) Fiji to conduct activities across the following programmatic areas:
(a) Needs Assessment for the women’s group in the four selected communities;
(b) Financial Literacy and seed capital for women business creativity;
(c) Proposal writing;
(d) Mentoring on women leadership;
(e) Training in family communication and awareness in conflict resolution and prevention of sexual abuse; and
(f) Disaster Risk Reduction Training for women.
