Marlene Dutta

Marlene Dutta is an experienced leader in business development, NGO management, and community development across the Pacific. With a career spanning Fiji, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Papua New Guinea, she has played a pivotal role in driving sustainable and culturally appropriate solutions to improve livelihoods.
As the Pacific Regional Manager for Good Return, Marlene oversees financial inclusion and capability programs across multiple countries, working closely with partners, donors, and communities to enhance economic empowerment. Her expertise includes governance, strategic planning, and operational management, which she has applied through consultancy work with organizations such as Women’s Fund Fiji, the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement, and the Fiji Cancer Society.
Marlene’s governance experience extends to serving on multiple boards, including Femlink Pacific, Equal Ground Pacific, Women’s Action for Change, and Marketing Works Fiji. She is also a Steering Committee Member for the Emerging Pacific Leaders Dialogue. Her leadership is characterized by innovation, inclusivity, and a deep commitment to gender equality.
Marlene holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, majoring in Management Science and Management Studies, with minors in Finance and Marketing.
