WEBC’s Child Care Graduates Inspire Change Across Fiji
October 22, 2025
Suva, Fiji — Women’s Fund Fiji (WFF) congratulates its grantee partner, the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council (WEBC), and the graduates of the Empower Child Care Program for successfully completing their training, marking another milestone in advancing women’s economic empowerment in Fiji.
The graduation ceremony celebrated women who have transformed their caregiving skills into viable childcare enterprises; balancing family, business, and study commitments to achieve success. Through the two-month
program, participants gained practical knowledge and confidence to start and manage their own childcare businesses, turning their passion for care into sustainable livelihoods.

Speaking at the event, WFF Executive Director Vicky Yee commended the graduates for their resilience, passion, and dedication.
“You are proof that empowerment begins the moment a woman believes in her own ability to create change. You have balanced families, businesses, and studies to reach this milestone and that speaks volumes about your determination and heart,” Ms Yee said.
“Today is a celebration of your courage, your endurance, and your belief that dreams are worth chasing, no matter your starting point. You are the heartbeat of your communities and the role models for many more women who will follow in your footsteps.”
The Executive Director acknowledged WEBC’s role in empowering women to turn natural caregiving abilities into economic opportunities.
“WEBC has helped women transform what comes naturally and that is nurturing, teaching, and caring into something powerful, dignified, and economically sustaining,” she added.
Acknowledging the Partnership
Women’s Fund Fiji is privileged to partner with WEBC through the program “Empowering Women, Strengthening Care: Building a Sustainable Future for Women Leading Change in Fiji.”
“This initiative demonstrates what can be achieved when women come together to strengthen economic opportunities and promote shared care responsibilities in our homes, communities, and workplaces,” Ms Yee said.
Through this collaboration, WEBC continues to grow from strength to strength in mobilising women entrepreneurs, creating spaces for learning and collaboration, and paving pathways for women to build sustainable livelihoods and lead change in their communities.
Women’s Fund Fiji reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that recognise care work, strengthen women’s leadership, and promote equality and inclusion across Fiji.
