Reijeli Cokanasiga-Taylor Appointed as Executive Director of Women’s Fund Fiji

Women’s Fund Fiji is thrilled to announce the appointment of Reijeli Cokanasiga-Taylor as its new Executive Director, effective September 25, 2023. Women’s Fund Fiji, the resource mobilisation arm of the feminist and women’s movement in Fiji, is confident that Ms. Cokanasiga-Taylor’s wealth of experience and passion for gender equality will further the organisation’s mission and impact.

With a career spanning over three decades, Reijeli Cokanasiga-Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as Executive Director. She holds a Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning from the University of New England, NSW, Australia, and is affiliated with esteemed organisations such as the Planning Institute of Australia, Urban Land Institute (ULI Asia), and the Fiji Planners Institute.
Throughout her career, Ms. Cokanasiga-Taylor has played pivotal roles in both the public and private sectors, as well as in international partnerships. Her extensive background in leadership, policy, and advocacy has made significant contributions to Fiji’s National Development Plans, with a particular emphasis on capacity building and institutional development.
Reijeli’s experience also extends to community development initiatives focused on climate change and resilience. She has facilitated partnerships with organisations such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and KPMG Singapore, working on innovative projects like the Future Cities initiative for TLTB’s Digital Land Register, Online Marketplace, and Blockchain project.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Cokanasiga-Taylor is a passionate advocate for community and non-profit initiatives, particularly in the areas of arts, healthcare, education, youth, gender development, and women’s community projects. Her commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility aligns seamlessly with Women’s Fund Fiji’s core values.
Women’s Fund Fiji carries out three core functions: Grantmaking, Capacity Development, and Movement Building and Advocacy. Reijeli Cokanasiga-Taylor’s extensive experience and leadership skills make her well-suited to lead the organisation in fulfilling its mission to empower women and advance gender equality in Fiji.
Reijeli’s personal interests include heritage, arts, culture, renovation, interior design projects, and gardening.
