October 28, 2025
Pacific Harbour, Fiji — Speaking at the Women’s Fund Fiji (WFF) Annual Reflection and Learning Workshop, Nalini Singh, Executive Director of the Fiji Women’s Rights Movement (FWRM) and Co-Chair of the WFF Governance Board, highlighted the enduring power of feminism, solidarity, and resilience across Fiji and the Pacific.
Under the theme “Grounding Our Movements – Resilience, Solidarity, and Feminist Futures,” Singh celebrated the leadership of women and gender-diverse people driving social change despite limited resources.

“Our movements are built on unseen labour, the women, youth, and gender-diverse advocates who show up every day,” Singh said. “You are the heartbeat of these movements, and your voices must guide every decision we make.”
She shared stories of women using digital tools to raise awareness on gender-based violence and climate resilience, and of networks of women with disabilities creating peer support systems.
“Even in scarcity, Pacific women show that imagination and solidarity create impact,” she added. “They are leading change and building futures of dignity and justice.”
Singh reaffirmed that feminism in the Pacific is grounded in traditional values of reciprocity, respect, and collective responsibility. “It’s about inclusion, dignity, and justice lifting each other up and protecting the rights of all,” she said.
In closing, Singh urged continued collaboration to build sustainable, well-resourced feminist movements. “Feminism is about reimagining what’s possible, creating societies where everyone can live with freedom, respect, and opportunity.”
The WFF Annual Reflection and Learning Workshop brings together grantee partners to share experiences, celebrate achievements, and strengthen Fiji’s feminist movement.
